How the Black Death was started.

Well in 1347 a ship came back to Italy from Asia.  Long trip right?  Well the ship had black rats aboard and the black rats were carrying diseased fleas carring the disease called the Black Death.  After the Italians ship docked in Italy the black rats got off the ship with the fleas still on them.  When the black rats got by the people the fleas gave the disease to the humans and the humans gave the diseas to eachother.  The humans called the Black Death the Black Death because the Italians sailed back to Italy on the Black Sea.

What caused the black rats to be around humans to cause the Black Death.

Believe it or not the thing that caused the black rats to be around humans was a weather change.  Yep you herd me the weather was abnormally dry so the rats and the fleas came on the boat with the Italians.  "In 1346 the plague appeared at Caffa in the Crimea, a colony of Genoa on the Black Sea".  From there on out the Black Death spread by sea and land.  It spread to most of Europe and through out the middle east.

Symptoms of the Black Death.

There are many symptoms of the Black Death.  People had horrible headaches,were very week and were terribly tired.  Some people got so week that they staggered when they walked.  When the victims first got the Black Death their arm pits swelled up to the size of hen eggs.  Their arm pits also got a blackish blue color when they swelled up.  A day or two into the Black Death the victims got so week they couldn't walk or stand up or sit.  So during the Black Death you could see half the people laying in the middle of the road.  The vicim died from the Black Death about two or three days after they got it.  You could always tell the victim was about to die because their mouth gaped open and their skin blackened from internal bleeding.

How oftin the Plague/Black Death came back.

The Plague came back about every 20 years.  As the humans began to realize this disease was contagious they thought there was only one way to stop it.  So the humans decided they had to get rid of the victims.  So they built a wall around the Italian city of Sanserolero.  What they didn't realize was that the black rats were the ones making the Black Death contagious.  So all they really had to do was kill the rats... well also the fleas.  So after a while they realized people were still getting sick.

One form of the Plague is the Preumonic Plague.  One of the symptoms of the Preumonic is coughing.  I bet I know what your thinking..... not that bad right.  Wrong!  The victim's of the Preumonic also coughed up blood, had chest pains and shortness in breath.  And on top of that they also had a high fever.  Imagine getting all that and you would only live for only a little bit less than two days!  Plus the mortality rate was almost 100%!
